Chapter Five

Blair’s got a boyfriend, Blair’s got a boyfriend. He felt giddy inside. This hunk of a man was his.

They went to the clothing store downstairs, Dakota insisting he get everything he needed for now. His mate even tossed another coat up on the counter. Blair got a chance to see the price tag this time. He wanted to kill that guy for making him ruin his first coat. Damn thing wasn’t cheap. Blair remembered his money in the other one, feeling uneasy about leaving it in the hotel room unprotected.

Blair stood there watching the woman behind the register batting her eyes at his mate. She flirted and giggled, trying her best to snag him. Bitch. There was about to be a cat fight in here because no one messed with his wolf.

“Excuse me. Could you please stop flirting with my husband right in front of me? It’s very rude and disrespectful.” Blair added a flip to his hair for the queen bitch effect.

“I don’t see any rings.” She shot daggers at him. So, the poacher had her claws out? Blair had a set of his own. And they were sharp.

“Oh, honey, we have rings. They’re called cock rings, something you won’t get a chance to see.” He reached up, pulling Dakota down to him, and deep throated his tongue right there in the store.

Dakota pulled Blair up against his body, deepening the kiss. He better go along with this if he wants some more ass.

Breaking the kiss, Dakota handed over his credit card, never looking away from Blair. Oh, he was good.

They exited the store with a pissy-ass clerk left standing behind the register as they walked to the elevators.

“Thanks.” Dakota pecked him on the lips.

“No problem. That cock belongs to me—and the hunk attached to it.” Blair chuckled as the ding of the elevator sounded.

Blair changed into a clean outfit. He reached into the tattered white coat and pulled the billfold out, handing it to Dakota.

“Why are you returning this, sunshine?” Dakota looked puzzled

“Because it would make me feel better, make me feel like my time with you wasn’t bought. I don’t want to feel like a whore with you.” Blair shoved it at Dakota, but his mate refused to take it. Blair tossed it on the round table next to them, and a heavy thud sounded with its landing.

“I don’t want to hear that word or any other degradation referenced to you, even if it’s you saying them.” Dakota growled. “You earned this by helping me in my search. It’s yours.”

“Please, Dakota. I don’t want it.” Blair begged softly. Was he crazy? That was two grand he was tossing away. No. Giving the money back made his time with Dakota seem like they were really a couple, not a paid transaction. He reached in the nightstand drawer and pulled the two one hundred dollar bills out, laying them on top of the billfold.

Dakota pulled Blair in his arms, cupping his face, “If that’s what you really want. I think no less of you for keeping it.
